History
The F-4G was the designation given to 116 USAF F-4Es converted to the Wild Weasel SEAD configuration, replacing the F-105F Wild Weasel III once that airframe went out of production and its numbers were depleted by attrition in Vietnam. The M61A1 cannon and its ammunition drum were removed and replaced by an undernose fairing housing forward- and side-looking radar antennas plus the AN/APR-38 radar warning and attack system. It carried AGM-45 Shrike and AGM-78 Standard anti-radiation missiles.
