General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon NF-16D VISTA

VISTA (Variable-stability In-flight Simulator Test Aircraft) is a Block 30 F-16D modified under a contract awarded to General Dynamics in 1988, jointly funded by the USAF, the U.S. Navy and NASA. Its reprogrammable digital flight control system, with an additional center stick in the rear cockpit, lets it reproduce the handling qualities of other aircraft in flight. It first flew in VISTA configuration on 9 April 1992 and has since operated with the USAF Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB; in 2019 it debuted an autonomous combat autopilot under DARPA's ACE program.
