The only one built

The 717-200 was the programme's production version, offered in basic and high gross weight configurations — the latter with greater range — and powered by two tail-mounted Rolls-Royce BR715 engines. Deliveries continued until the line closed, with 155 aircraft built in total.

What defined it

The two-crew flight deck carried over the philosophy of the MD-95 family it grew from, and the fuselage seated around 106 passengers in two classes or 117 in a single-class layout. Its range was about 2,645 kilometres, enough for the regional, high-frequency routes it was aimed at.
