BAe 146 Avro RJ100

The RJ100 shares its fuselage with the 146-300 and adds the second-generation package: LF 507 engines, digital avionics and a new interior. It flew on 13 May 1992 and 71 were built. The most common layout seats a hundred passengers five abreast, although the cabin takes up to 128 six abreast at a 74-centimetre pitch. Its maximum take-off weight was certified first at 44,225 kilograms and later at 46,039. This was the aircraft Swiss, Brussels Airlines and BA CityFlyer used for years on city-airport routes, and the one Airbus picked as the testbed for the E-Fan X hybrid-electric demonstrator, cancelled before it flew.
