Video from the channel Just Planes about Airbus A310, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 7:53. Language: English. Video type: Onboard.

What's covered

The departure from Boston's Logan Airport seen from the cockpit of a SATA Airbus A310-300. It was filmed in 2013, on a round trip between Ponta Delgada and Boston, before the airline retired the type. The clip runs from cockpit preparation through to the climb.

Details shown

With cockpit preparation done, the crew receives pushback clearance and reviews the departure: runway 22 right, slats and flaps set to 15 for takeoff. After waiting for crossing traffic, the tower clears them for takeoff. The thrust and SRS mode checks are heard, along with rotation and the positive-climb confirmation. Autopilot one is then engaged and the aircraft switches to the departure and Boston Center frequencies, which give it its climb levels.

Context

The scene belongs to a longer film about SATA that also features the A320 and inter-island flights on the Dash 8 Q400.
