SpaceX Falcon 1 DemoFlight 2 Launch

Video from the channel collectSPACE about Falcon 1, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 5:39. Language: English. Video type: Launch.

Recording of SpaceX's broadcast of Falcon 1's second demonstration flight, a light two-stage launch vehicle. The clip covers the final checks, liftoff and the first part of ascent, with the control calls reporting the vehicle's status.

After pressurizing both stages' tanks and completing the countdown, the rocket lifts off and clears the tower. The calls give 128 m/s at 2.6 km altitude and, after passing max dynamic pressure, 450 m/s at 13.9 km. With the first-stage Merlin engine running normally, stage separation, second-stage ignition and fairing separation follow. Control then announces 2,634 m/s at 117 km and 2,778 m/s at 161 km.

Throughout the clip, engine performance, guidance and the telemetry link with both stages are called nominal. The recording ends with the second stage still burning, so it does not show the end of the flight.
