Video from the channel JetFlix about Vickers, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 8:38. Language: English. Video type: Documentary.

What it's about

A narrated tour through period photographs of the Vickers Viscount in the liveries of the airlines that operated it between the 1950s and 1970s. The narrator gives each image a brief comment on the operator, the aircraft series (700 or 800) and the approximate place and date of the shot.

Historical context

The video presents the Viscount as a British airliner with four Rolls-Royce Dart turboprops, developed in the late 1940s and early 1950s, whose turbine propulsion marked a leap in comfort, speed and range over the piston aircraft it replaced.
