THE €300,000 BEECHCRAFT THAT STILL OUTPERFORMS MANY MODERN AIRCRAFT!
Video from the channel AVIACIÓN EN DAY about Beechcraft, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 10:01. Language: Spanish. Video type: Documentary.
What it's about
An analysis of the Beechcraft Bonanza A36 as a used-aircraft purchase. It explains why a decades-old design remains competitive against pricier new singles, and what precautions it demands.
Historical background
The Bonanza was conceived to combine speed, comfort, range and build quality. The A36 took that idea further with six seats and rear doors that ease access. Its longevity rests on engines from widely used families, with many mechanics, abundant documentation and an industry dedicated to their upkeep. It also helps that the avionics and interiors can be modernized.
Key figures
According to the video, a used A36 costs between €250,000 and €400,000, and around €300,000 there are still interesting units available. Modernized versions, with the roughly 300-horsepower Continental IO-550, cruise at close to 170 knots. It warns that corrosion, airframe condition, maintenance history, engine and avionics determine each unit's real value, and that maintaining a Bonanza isn't cheap.
