William Jones earns the Medal of Honor near Đồng Hới

USAF Colonel William A. Jones III led four A-1Hs escorting a helicopter rescue near Đồng Hới, North Vietnam. With his aircraft hit and burning and himself badly burned, he stayed in command until he had relayed the downed pilot's position. He was awarded the Medal of Honor.
