United Airlines DC-3A crashes into San Francisco Bay

United Airlines DC-3A-197 NC16073, flying Los Angeles-San Francisco-Oakland, lost control on approach to San Francisco and came down in the bay about 3 km short of the runway. All 11 people on board died.
