The C-87 Liberator Express and the "Hump" route

1942

Derived from the B-24 Liberator, the C-87 Liberator Express transport flew from 1942 on the dangerous "Hump" route over the Himalayas, carrying supplies from India to China after Japan cut the Burma Road. B-24 bomber units also operated in the China-Burma-India theater during the war.
