KLM DC-3 Specht crashes at Palembang

Shortly after take-off from Palembang, Indonesia, KLM DC-3 PH-ALS suffered a left-engine failure and fire caused by a broken connecting rod. The crew tried to return but the aircraft struck trees; 4 of the 12 on board died.
