American Airlines inaugurates DC-3 passenger service

American Airlines opened scheduled DC-3 passenger service with two simultaneous flights, one from Newark, New Jersey, and one from Chicago, Illinois. United, TWA, Eastern and Delta soon followed with orders of their own.
