More than three decades on the line

The Beechcraft Model 18 was produced continuously from 1937 to November 1969, more than 32 years, which was a world record at the time. More than 9,000 aircraft were built. The model was developed in the mid-to-late 1930s, mainly as a compact business aircraft and regional airliner. The prototype made its maiden flight on 15 January 1937.

Uniform and civilian livery

In military service it received designations such as C-45 Expeditor, AT-7 Navigator and AT-11 Kansan. It was sold worldwide as a civilian executive, utility, cargo and passenger aircraft. In the early postwar years, the Beech 18 was the quintessential "business aircraft" and "feeder airliner."

Jobs of every kind

Its uses included aerial spraying, sterile insect release, fish stocking, dry-ice cloud seeding, aerial firefighting and airmail transport.
