Short answer

The first A.23 did not fly in 1925, but in 1926. The luxury of its cabin was a toilet at the rear, together with a window for each fixed seat and a 3 m (9 ft 10 in) compartment with six fixed seats and two folding ones.

An airliner biplane larger than its predecessor

The Aero A.23 was a Czechoslovak airliner of the 1920s. A biplane like the model that preceded it, it was larger, more powerful and able to carry more passengers. Its upper wing was somewhat larger than the lower in both span and chord and was made up of three parts. The fuselage, built of steel tubing, was rectangular in section.

A cabin with a toilet

Inside that fuselage was a passenger compartment 3 m (9 ft 10 in) long, fitted with six fixed seats and two folding ones. Each passenger in the fixed seats had an opening window in the plywood walls. At the rear of the cabin there was a toilet, and at the front, a hatch giving access to the engine.

The pilots, in the open air

While the passengers travelled inside, the aircraft was flown from an open cockpit with the two positions side by side, located high on the fuselage behind the passenger compartment, with the captain on the left and the second pilot and radio operator on his right. The first A.23 flew in 1926. From 1928, seven A.23s flew for ČSA on the routes from Prague to Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně) and from Prague to Uzhhorod, and some remained in service until 1936.
