Did you know…
How many I-11Bs were built?
Short answer
Between 208 and around 450, depending on the source: one of the AISA I-11 reference sheets gives 208 examples built, while All-Aero speaks of around 400 built as the AISA I-11B and, on the same page, of around 450 built in total (according to different sources). Neither explains the discrepancy.

From the Iberavia prototype to AISA
The I-11 was a two-seat civil utility aircraft manufactured in Spain in the 1950s. It was originally designed by the Spanish company Iberavia, and the first of its two prototypes, with tricycle landing gear and a large bubble canopy, flew on 16 July 1951. Its flying characteristics proved satisfactory, but before series production could be planned Iberavia was acquired by AISA. The new management went ahead with development, though it reduced the size of the cockpit canopy and changed the landing gear to a tailwheel type. The designation I-11B corresponds to the production examples built by AISA.
Flying clubs and the Air Force
That configuration entered production in 1952 with an order from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation for 70 aircraft for the Spanish flying clubs; All-Aero places the unveiling of that series in early 1954. Afterwards, the Air Force ordered 125 for training and liaison duties. It later ordered 200 aircraft with tandem seating, which the manufacturer designated I-115, fitted with a 112 kW (150 hp) ENMA Tigre engine.
Three production figures
One of the I-11 reference sheets puts the number built at 208. All-Aero states that AISA ended up building around 400 as the AISA I-11B, and the same page also gives a figure of around 450 built (according to different sources). Neither source explains where the discrepancy comes from.
