Did you know…
How many Aeronca Champions were built?
Short answer
More than 10,000, counting all manufacturers and variants. The dominant model was the Aeronca 7AC Champion, with more than 7,200 units between 1945 and 1948. When production ended in 1951, the company had sold more than 8,000 Champions, mostly 7ACs.

More than 10,000 built in total
Total Champion production exceeds 10,000 units when counting all manufacturers and all variants of the design. That figure includes aircraft built by manufacturers other than Aeronca, as well as variants derived from the original model. The bulk comes from a single version, the Aeronca 7AC Champion, of which more than 7,200 were built between 1945 and 1948. When production stopped in 1951, the company had sold more than 8,000 Champions, mostly 7ACs, about 7,200 of them.
The variant numbers
773 7ECs were built during the original production run. 472 7FCs were built. 100 7DCs were produced. 100 L-16B/7CCM aircraft were also built.
