Rob Holland Ultimate Airshows | Stuart Airshow 2022
Video from the channel Ken Kelly about Stuart Air Show 2026, linked on its Above Ten Thousand entry. Duration: 7:24. Language: English. Video type: Air show.
Event and lineup
Recording of Rob Holland's performance, an aerobatic pilot from Nashua, New Hampshire, at the 2022 Stuart Air Show, at Witham Field (Florida). The event's announcer comments on the flight and recalls that, that same August, Holland competed in Poland at the 32nd FAI World Aerobatic Championship, where he finished fifth.
What you see
It is a continuous sequence of low-level aerobatics, with tumbles, falls and figures in which the aircraft spins around itself with the stick forward, so that the tail goes around the nose and the nose goes around the tail. The commentator highlights the rolling spin, in which the aircraft enters a spin while rolling at the same time, and says he has not seen other pilots perform it. The routine ends with the final approach to landing, which the announcer accompanies with a joke about how high the aircraft comes in and its spinning descent.
The aircraft on display
The commentary barely dwells on the aircraft, an aerobatic single-seater. It focuses on the pilot, who according to the announcer trains rigorously for both display flying and competition aerobatics.
