Projected military transport with a rear loading ramp and a tail gun turret, sized for 300 paratroopers or 40 tonnes over 5,000 km. Cancelled in favour of the Antonov An-22.

History
A compartment for 38 soldiers was planned behind the flight deck. The Tu-115 would have given Soviet transport aviation an immediate strategic capability by reusing the Tu-114 airframe, but the Antonov An-22, designed from the outset as a wide-body freighter, offered better usable volume and won the programme.
