A brief tribute piece that traces the history of the North American B-25 Mitchell, a twin-engine medium bomber named in honor of Brigadier General William "Billy" Mitchell.

It entered service in 1941 and fought in every theater of World War II. On April 18, 1942, 16 aircraft under the command of Lieutenant Colonel James Doolittle took off from the carrier USS Hornet to attack Japan. Material damage was limited, but the raid had a major effect on American morale.

Nearly 10,000 were built, making it the most-produced American medium bomber. It operated in the Pacific, North Africa, Italy and southern Europe, and was also used by the RAF and Soviet aviation.
