History
Nakajima developed the A6M2-N floatplane version from the Model 11 with a slightly modified tail; the Allies code-named it 'Rufe'. Francillon records 327 built (323 per the postwar USSBS report). It operated from areas without usable airstrips, including the Aleutians and several Pacific islands.
