A stretched Il-96-300 with Western avionics and four Pratt & Whitney PW2337 engines. It was the first Russian aircraft developed in cooperation with US industry.

History
In March 1993 the Il-96-300 prototype's fuselage was lengthened and its PS-90s replaced by American engines, a first for a Russian aircraft. The single airframe flew on 6 April 1993 and was certified in the United States in 1997. The programme stalled when the US Export-Import Bank suspended financing for the engines and avionics; despite successive trade deals tied to Aeroflot orders from Boeing, the arrangement never went through. The prototype appeared repeatedly at air shows and was finally scrapped in May 2009.
