History

The Attack Super Tomcat 21 was the last of the proposed Super Tomcat designs, conceived as a version of the ST-21 leaning further towards ground attack and possibly fitted with an active electronically scanned array radar inherited from the A-12 programme, cancelled shortly before. Like the ST-21 it would have been rebuilt on existing F-14 airframes. Neither it nor its siblings materialised: cost and political opposition ruled them out in favour of the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet.
