History
Block 70/72 (marketed as the F-16V "Viper") is the most advanced new-production version of the F-16 family, assembled at the new Greenville, South Carolina plant after the Fort Worth line closed. It features the APG-83 SABR active electronically scanned array radar (derived from the F-35), a large-format center cockpit display, an internal electronic warfare suite, and an airframe with structural life extended to 12,000 hours. Export customer designations sharing this same airframe — India (F-16IN, unsuccessful bid), Iraq (F-16IQ), or Bahrain, Slovakia, Bulgaria and Taiwan (F-16V) — are not distinct airframe variants, only commercial names for the same Block 70/72.
