Fokker F27 Friendship F27 Maritime Enforcer

Fokker developed two patrol versions on the Friendship airframe. The first, the F27 200-MAR, was an unarmed maritime reconnaissance aircraft that used the turboprop's endurance and roomy cabin for long coastal and exclusive-economic-zone surveillance sorties. The second, the Maritime Enforcer, added an armed capability, turning the Friendship into a maritime patrol and strike platform.

The military adaptation was possible because the high wing leaves the fuselage clear and the pressurised cabin takes operator consoles without redesigning the structure. With it Fokker opened the F27 to the mid-range maritime patrol market, which the type shared with equivalent adaptations of other twin turboprops of its era.
