Communications with approach and tower can be heard, the descent from 7,000 feet, ILS approach preparation, gear extension, touchdown and taxi to the parking stand. After landing, a crew member recounts how they were received.

Context

In San Juan, former Eastern employees were waiting for the aircraft — the airline has about 900 retirees on the island — along with local media. Some visitors recognized the two flight attendants, who had worked for the airline. The airport authority waived the landing fee, and the aircraft took on 600 gallons of fuel before continuing on to St. Maarten.
