BAe 146 BAe 146 CC Mk2 (Queen's Flight)

From 1986 the Royal Air Force's Queen's Flight took on three 146-100s designated BAe 146 CC2, fitted with a bespoke luxury interior and a VIP layout for 19 passengers and six crew; the standard transport version was offered as the CC1 and the commercial one as the Statesman. The aircraft later passed to 32 Squadron, which flew them until 2022 carrying the royal family and senior British government figures. One incident made them famous: on 29 June 1994 ZE700 overran the runway at Islay Airport with the then Prince Charles at the controls, invited to fly although he was travelling as a passenger; after the event he gave up flying royal flights. The two survivors are preserved at IWM Duxford and the South Wales Aviation Museum.
