Israel declares the F-35I "Adir" operational
Milestone — The Israeli Air Force declared the F-35I operational with 140 Squadron "Golden Eagle" at Nevatim air base, a year after receiving its first two aircraft. Israel thus got ahead of every other foreign customer in the programme. The declaration came with a still small fleet, a decision in keeping with Israeli doctrine of putting equipment into the line as early as possible.
