An F-35C crashes into the deck of USS Carl Vinson
Accident — An F-35C of squadron VFA-147 struck the after ramp of USS Carl Vinson while attempting to land in the South China Sea and fell into the water. The pilot ejected and was rescued, and seven people were injured on deck. The Navy recovered the wreckage from more than 3,700 metres down in an operation lasting weeks.
