Rollout of the first Japanese-assembled F-35A

June 5, 2017

AX-5, the first F-35A assembled in Japan, was unveiled at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries final assembly and check-out facility at Komaki South, Nagoya. It was the programme's third assembly line, after Fort Worth and Cameri, and the outcome of Japan's demand for industrial participation in the contract. The first four aircraft of the Japanese order had been built in Texas.
