Israel signs the letter of offer and acceptance for its first 20 F-35
October 7, 2010
Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak signed the letter of offer and acceptance for twenty F-35As, the programme's first export contract through foreign military sales. The deal included the integration of Israeli systems into the airframe, a concession the United States granted to no other customer and which gave rise to the F-35I "Adir" variant.
