The U.S. Navy declares the F-35C operational

The United States Navy declared initial operational capability for the F-35C with strike fighter squadron VFA-147 "Argonauts" at Naval Air Station Lemoore, California. The squadron had completed its carrier qualifications aboard USS Carl Vinson the previous December. The Navy was the last of the three U.S. services to reach the milestone, three and a half years after the Marine Corps.
