Junkers F 13 F 13co, fo, ko (BMW Va)

The -o suffix in the F 13 type code marked the BMW Va, a water-cooled inline of 230 kW (310 hp) — the same power class as the Junkers L5 that equipped the -e versions, and the top of the engine range that Junkers offered on the airframe. Only three airframes are recorded with it: co, fo and ko. Together with the BMW IV of the -i versions, these machines show how far the F 13 was taken as a commercial product: a single design, in production at Dessau and assembled or built under licence elsewhere, offered with engines from two manufacturers and in a power range that eventually spanned from 160 hp to 570 hp. No separate operational history is documented for the -o versions; they are censused here to complete the engine census of the type.
